Recently, Beixin Group Building Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Beixin Building Materials”) officially launched a dual-layer ERP benchmark project with Kingdee Software (China) Co., Ltd., and will pilot it at the Taicang factory this year. Both parties will jointly create a finance and business integrated operations platform for Longpai Group based on the next-generation enterprise-level AI platform Kingdee Cloud Cosmic and the large enterprise SaaS management cloud platform Kingdee Cloud. The aim is to fully connect the business process flow, cash flow, and data flow, significantly enhancing Longpai Group’s digital operational efficiency, achieving an online closed loop for the entire process, all elements, and all scenarioses of “personnel, finance, and materials, production, supply, and sales,” supporting scientific decision-making.

Beijing New Building Materials is part of the new materials sector under the China National Building Material Group, which is ranked among the Fortune Global 500. The total assets exceed 30 billion, with annual sales revenue of 22.4 billion and a workforce of 16,000 employees. Beijing New Building Materials has been deeply engaged in three major businesses: gypsum board, waterproof materials, and coatings for many years. It is the world’s largest gypsum board Manufacturing Enterprise and was awarded the China Industrial Award in 2016. To fully implement the China National Building Material “1254” digital transformation plan and accelerate the implementation of the Beixin Building Material “1254” blueprint, Longpai Group, as the pioneer in the digital transformation and integration of business and finance for Beixin Building Material, is allocating resources to start the ERP benchmark project. This project aims to leverage the two-tier ERP technology architecture of Kingdee Cloud to promote business integration and process optimization, achieve digital operations and cost control across the entire business chain, enhance decision support capabilities and risk prevention capabilities, build an open and collaborative ecosystem, and support sustainable high-quality development.

At the Project Start meeting, Qiu Hong, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Manager of Beixin Building Materials, made three requests for the project construction: First, deeply understand the significance of the background. The ERP project is a benchmark project for digital transformation collaboratively promoted by Beixin Building Materials, Longpai, and Kingdee. It not only has significant guiding importance for the integrated development of Beixin Building Materials’ future business but also helps Longpai reduce costs and control expenses through digital means while adding value. We hope all parties will pay close attention, coordinate resources effectively, and take the pilot project as an opportunity to promote management optimization, organizational adaptation, and data governance, thereby comprehensively enhancing operational management capabilities. Second, we should balance overall planning with flexibility. The Long brand two-tier ERP architecture must serve as a bridge, ensuring data connectivity while also respecting the differences among various business segments. The system design should align with actual business needs, focusing on the flow and value addition of data elements. Third, focus on the solid and detailed implementation of the project. Each level of responsible personnel must clarify the goals of ERP construction, truly invest energy and wisdom to participate deeply, establish and improve the project management <mechanism>, strengthen grassroots <investigation> and groundwork, <precisely> identify business needs, and focus on systematic thinking and safety control. First, to implement effective organizational protection work, we recommend selecting a Team Leader with strong organizational and coordination skills, and expanding the participation of the project guidance committee to enhance the overall coordination capability of the project. Secondly, in the specific implementation, the following systems need to be <Key> <Followed>: First, the assessment system should establish a profit-oriented evalsuation mechanism to ensure fairness in key aspects such as expense accounting and rebate calculation; second, the procurement system should optimize the material management cycle and standardize the management of spare parts; third, the management system should maintain system openness, replacing rigid interception with warning prompts; fourth, the e-commerce system should fully consider the end user’s experience, adhering to the design principles of ease of operation and user-friendly interfaces. Finally, we recommend strengthening the training of the proprietary digital team, through the comprehensive implementation of the ERP system, to promote a qualitative leap in various business systems such as production, customer service, procurement, finance, and assessment.
